]]> Attorney General Garth Wilkin Reveals New Registrar of the High Court https://potfood.kn/attorney-general-garth-wilkin-reveals-new-registrar-of-the-high-court/ Sat, 03 Sep 2022 18:21:16 +0000 https://potfood.kn/?p=421 In a notice to the St. Kitts-Nevis Bar Association, Attorney General Garth Wilkin revealed the following changes to the Registry of the High Court and the Land Registry in St Kitts:

1. Effective August 24, 2022 until further notice, the Registry of the High Court has been operating from the Eulalie Byron Law Library on the 2nd floor of the Sir Tapley Seaton Annex, Independence Square East, Basseterre, St Kitts.

3. Effective September 1, 2022 until further notice, Violet Williams has been assigned to act as Assistant Registrar of the High Court with specific responsibility for Probate, Letters of Administration, and related matters. Ms Williams’ office is situated at the Attorney General’s Chambers, Building 22, Port Zante, St Kitts. Ms Williams’ contact email is: Violet.Williams@gov.kn.

2. Effective August 29, 2022 until further notice, Tashna Powell Williams has been assigned to act as Registrar of the High Court (and thereby as the Acting Registrar of Deeds with respect to all matters unrelated to land, including Bills of Sale, Deed Polls and Powers of
Attorney). Mrs Powell Williams’ office is situated on the 2nd floor of the Sir Tapley Seaton Q.C. Annex, Independence Square East, Basseterre, St Kitts. Mrs Powell Williams’ contact email is: Tashna.Powell Williams@gov.kn.

4. Effective September 2, 2022 until further notice all Deeds (including Bills of Sale, Deed Polls and Powers of Attorney) are to be presented for registration at the Land Registry on the 2nd Floor of the former C&C Building, George Street, Basseterre, St Kitts. Deed searches will also be facilitated at the Land Registry.

5. Effective September 5, 2022 until October 2, 2022, Josephine Mallalieu has been assigned to act as Registrar of Lands. Ms Mallalieu’s office is situated at the Land Registry on the 2nd Floor of the former C&C Building, George Street, Basseterre, St Kitts. Ms Mallalieu’s contact email is: Josephine Mallalieu@gov.kn.

Please also note that the Ministry of Justice & Legal Affairs has made provisions for at least one (1) Commissioner for Oaths to be present at the Registry of the High Court and the Land Registry, at all times during opening hours.
